Dar A Volta

Description

An ethnographic project, lead by Group Coordinator Ana Santos, that looked to examine the role of bikes in mobility through the revisitation of the first Volta a Portugal (Portugal's number one Cycling Competition). The 1927 Volta was a competition shaped by feelings of identity and, therefore, easily recognized by the social imaginary. The project seeks to understand the contemporary dynamics of bicycle usage and the challenges posed by the interaction of social, physical, and virtual spaces.
